MAC is currently recruiting for a Intermediate Electrical Designer for our Calgary office. The candidate will work under the direction of the Electrical Lead and will be responsible for providing accurate, detailed Electrical solution deliverables that satisfy business and other stakeholder needs. Potential candidates will be required to have an Electrical Designer education background coupled with a positive demeanor when interacting with internal and external clients.
Main responsibilities:
- Design and draft controls and electrical design packages. These would include control panel layouts, loop drawings, telecom wiring diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, etc., involved in such design packages.
- Support the design of the MV/LV power distribution system, single line diagrams.
- Accurately prepare area classification drawings in conjunction with electrical engineer and other discipline engineers.
- Calculate voltage drops, size conductors, cable trays and lighting requirements.
- Develop electrical bulk material quantities (MTO's).
- Develop load list from P&ID;'s and mechanical equipment list.
- Design the Electric heat tracing system and draft the EHT layouts.
- Provide design and drafting support as required.
- Be able to facilitate project deliverables and manage documentation that meet client's quality expectations and schedule.
- Design and draft drawings using AutoCAD software.
- Promote the company; it's people and talents.
Qualifications:
- The candidate shall have 5 to 8 years of electrical/automation design experience.
- Able to adapt to various situations quickly, while adhering to daily deadlines.
- Strong software computer proficiency: AutoCAD, Word, Outlook, Excel.
- Advanced communications skills. Able to integrate across all levels of the organization and with all variety of clients.
- Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma from a recognized technical institution or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with ASET with a goal of obtaining a CET designation.
- Preference will be given to candidates with some experience related to the Alberta oil and gas industry.
- Knowledgeable with latest revision of the Canadian Electrical Code.
Compensation:
- The salary will be negotiated based on experience of the successful candidate. MAC also offers a comprehensive benefits package for it's employees.
- Normal work hours for this position will be a 40 hour work week.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
