Heavy Duty Mechanic - Campbell River, BC

Our client is looking for a Heavy Duty Mechanic to support their operations in a dynamic industrial and marine environment. Located in Menzies Bay, just 14 km north of Campbell River, this long-standing company has been serving the tug and barge community, forestry, aquaculture, recreational fishing, and remote coastal communities for over 26 years. With the addition of a full-service boatyard capable of hauling and repairing vessels up to 150 tons, the team plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of marine and land-based equipment.

The successful candidate will conduct inspections, diagnose issues, perform overhauls, and execute repairs on a variety of equipment, including: heavy machinery, forklifts, tugboats, and other vessels.

Responsibilities

- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of marine and land-based heavy equipment, including forklifts, loaders, tugboats, and other vessels.
- Perform routine maintenance and overhauls to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic,



and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and technical expertise.
- Collaborate with the team to complete projects efficiently and meet operational demands.

Qualifications

- Valid Heavy Duty Mechanic certificate (Red Seal certification is an asset).
- Forklift certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- 2+ years of experience as a ticketed Heavy Duty Mechanic.
- Able to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to commute reliably to Campbell River, BC, or plan to relocate before starting.
