CANEIL Asset Integrity Management is seeking experienced NACE/AMPP Coating Inspectors for an upcoming pipeline atmospheric coating inspection program throughout the United States, though work will be concentrated primarily in the southern and central states, with regular travel between inspection locations required.

This is expected to be a minimum 12-week contract position with full-time field hours. The anticipated schedule is approximately six days per week and 10 hours per day, although the final schedule may vary based on client requirements, inspection locations, weather, and field conditions.

Travel expenses, mileage, per diem, meal allowances, and other approved project expenses will be provided in addition to the stated hourly rate at the amounts agreed upon during contracting.

Applicants holding a current NACE/AMPP Coating Inspector Program Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 certification are encouraged to apply. Compensation will be based on certification level, directly relevant experience, and the final project requirements.

CONTRACT POSITION

We are seeking motivated and experienced NACE/AMPP Coating Inspectors to perform atmospheric coating and corrosion condition assessments at pipeline locations throughout the United States. The work will include inspections of above-ground and otherwise exposed pipeline assets, as well as participation in pipeline excavation and dig-site inspections where required.

The successful candidate will document coating and corrosion conditions, collect field measurements, enter inspection information into the client’s data-management system, assign condition rankings, and support recommendations regarding repair requirements and priorities.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct atmospheric coating and corrosion inspections at pipeline locations, exposed pipeline sections, and excavation or dig sites
- Perform detailed visual examinations for coating deterioration, corrosion, pitting, mechanical damage, and other relevant pipeline conditions
- Collect ultrasonic thickness measurements and pit-depth measurements where required
- Use coating inspection and surface-preparation assessment tools to document existing conditions
- Take explicit and properly referenced photographs of inspection locations, deficiencies, measurements, and surrounding conditions
- Enter inspection results, photographs, measurements, and supporting information into the client’s electronic data-management system
- Assign inspection or condition rankings in accordance with client procedures and established assessment criteria




- Identify areas requiring further evaluation, coating repair, corrosion mitigation, or prioritized corrective action
- Provide practical field recommendations regarding inspection findings and anticipated next steps
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely inspection records and field reports
- Confirm inspection equipment is functional, properly maintained, and calibrated where applicable
- Coordinate with CANEIL personnel, client representatives, field crews, and other project stakeholders
- Follow all client, project, and site-specific health and safety requirements
- Wear all required personal protective equipment during inspection and field activities
- Travel regularly between pipeline locations and work extended field schedules as required

Requirements:

- Current NACE/AMPP Coating Inspector Program Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 certification
- Previous coating inspection experience, preferably involving pipelines, oil and gas infrastructure, or other industrial assets
- A few years of directly relevant inspection experience is preferred, although qualified Level 1 candidates with strong field experience will be considered
- Working knowledge of coating deterioration, atmospheric corrosion, surface preparation, coating inspection practices, and corrosion condition assessment
- Ability to identify, document, and clearly communicate coating defects, corrosion, pitting, and other integrity concerns
- Experience using common field inspection equipment, such as ultrasonic thickness gauges, pit gauges, dry-film thickness gauges, and surface-preparation inspection tools
- Comfort using a mobile phone, tablet, camera, or similar device to take photographs and enter information into an electronic inspection-management system
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate inspection records
- Ability to work independently while following established client procedures and reporting requirements
- Valid driver’s licence and acceptable driving record
- Reliable personal vehicle suitable for regular travel between inspection locations
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the southern and central United States




- Ability to work approximately six days per week and 10 hours per day when required
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, on uneven terrain, and around active pipeline excavation and dig sites
- Ability to wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment
- Legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

- Two or more years of experience performing pipeline coating or atmospheric corrosion inspections
- Previous experience working at pipeline excavation or integrity dig sites
- Experience completing condition rankings and helping establish repair priorities
- Experience with client-operated electronic inspection or asset-management systems
- Ultrasonic thickness testing certification or documented UT inspection experience
- Familiarity with pipeline integrity management programs and corrosion-control practices

Tools and Equipment:

The inspector will require access to basic coating and corrosion inspection equipment. Depending on the final contracting arrangement, the contractor may provide these tools directly, or CANEIL may provide some or all required equipment.

Typical equipment may include an ultrasonic thickness gauge, pit-depth gauge, dry-film thickness gauge, surface-preparation inspection tools or materials, camera-enabled mobile device, and other basic field inspection equipment required by the client.

Required personal protective equipment must be worn during all inspection activities. Project-specific equipment and PPE requirements will be confirmed before mobilization.

Compensation and Travel:

- Starting rate of US$40.00 per hour, with higher rates available based on NACE/AMPP certification level, pipeline inspection experience, UT qualifications, and overall suitability for the assignment
- Minimum anticipated contract duration of approximately 12 weeks
- Approximately 60 field hours per week anticipated, subject to project requirements
- Approved mileage reimbursement provided in addition to the hourly rate
- Per diem, meal allowances, accommodations, and other approved travel expenses provided at the stated or agreed-upon project rates
- Final schedule, hourly rate, travel arrangements, equipment responsibilities, and expense allowances will be confirmed at the time of contracting
