POSITION SUMMARY:
The Prevention Fund Administrator is responsible for the financial, administrative, and reporting
aspects of specialized funds dedicated to supporting the safety and well-being of Siksika Nation
children, youth, young adults, families, and communities. This role focuses on ensuring compliance
with funding agreements, tracking expenditures, and facilitating the delivery of services. This
operational support is crucial for maintaining efficiency and accuracy in fund management, helping
to reduce administrative burdens on fund managers.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Fund Management & Accounting: Overseeing the approved budget and ensuring compliance
with financial policies. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, tracking
expenditures, and reconciling accounts.
2. Grant & Contract Administration: managing agreements with service providers
and ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
3. Reporting & Compliance: Receiving, preparing and submitting interim, annual, and final
reports to funder on program outcomes, indicators, and financial expenditures.
4. Program Support: Working closely with staff,
community leaders, or organizations to ensure
the appropriate implementation of prevention strategies and initiatives, such as workshops,
training, or cultural programming.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Financial Expertise: Sound knowledge of budgeting practices, financial reporting, and accounting
procedures.
- Administrative Skills: Robust organizational skills to manage documentation, records,
and reporting timelines.
- Communication & Collaboration: Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including
community elders, families, and staff.
Education and Experience
Post-Secondary Diploma in Business Administrator or related field required.
Minimum of two years of relevant work experience in financial accounting required
Professional Designation/Certification/Licenses:
Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License required
Other:
Requires general knowledge of the Siksika Nation culture and some ability to communicate in the Siksika language.
