Front of House Manager / Guest Service Manager

We are a busy Ottawa brew pub seeking an experienced Front of House Manager / Guest Service Manager who is team-service driven and passionate about hospitality. The successful candidate will join our operation as we enter our busiest season and will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day success of our restaurant, bar, retail beer store, street-side patio, catering, and new beer hall event space.

Responsibilities

- Lead by example with a warm, professional, and welcoming attitude.
- Ensure every guest receives an outstanding hospitality experience.
- Promote team service standards and steps of service while supporting employee development and growth.
- Be a part of the team-service culture.
- Engage with guests and perform regular table touches to maintain service quality.
- Coach staff, recognize team contributions, and provide constructive and positive feedback.
- Address guest concerns and operational challenges promptly and professionally.
- Manage the flow of service during busy periods to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with product ordering, inventory management, and inventory audits.
- Contribute ideas that strengthen our culture, improve operations, and enhance the guest experience.
- Work with the host team to manage guest reservations and group bookings.
- Participate in the Health & Safety Committee.
- Complete daily accounting, bookkeeping,



and administrative log entries.

Qualifications

- Minimum 6 years of restaurant management experience.
- Minimum 6 years of bar management experience.
- Minimum 6 years of event management and catering experience.
- Minimum 6 years of serving experience.
- Minimum 6 years of bartending experience.
- Minimum 6 years of experience using Microsoft Excel.
- Minimum 6 years of Point-of-Sale (POS) system experience.
- Minimum 6 years of bookkeeping and cash-handling experience.
- Retail or beer store experience is considered an asset.
- Social media and marketing experience is considered an asset.
- Relevant hospitality education or equivalent work experience.
- Valid Smart Serve certification.
- Professional employment references.
