Location: Bedford, NS (on-site role)

Work Type: Permanent

Salary: $28-$32/hr (ranges depending on level of experience)

This Building Systems Technician role is ideal for a professional who enjoys working in a hands‑on facilities environment, solving technical and mechanical challenges, and working within a property operations context that requires both independence and teamwork. The right person will recognize this role as a natural next step based on their current experience with building systems, HVAC, life safety equipment, and general maintenance.

Why This Role

This role offers the opportunity to support the safe and efficient operation of a well‑established facility, exposure to a wide range of building systems, and the chance to develop deeper technical expertise across HVAC, water treatment, and life safety equipment. The Role: Building Systems Technician

In this role, you will spend most of your time operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting building systems including HVAC, water treatment, and life safety equipment. You will work closely with the Facilities team, external contractors, and mall management, and be responsible for delivering outcomes related to safety, compliance, and smooth facility operations.

This role balances technical system maintenance with general building and grounds work, providing clarity on expectations from day one.

What You’ll Bring

- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (true non‑negotiable requirement)
- Post‑secondary education in Heating & Cooling, Electrical Systems, or a related discipline — or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Fourth Class Stationary/Power Engineer Certificate or Systems Maintenance Technician training (asset)
- Experience with computerized building systems (asset)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Robust interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to transfer technical knowledge to others
