The Project Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating construction projects and helping lead our team through project completion. This individual will work closely with Project Managers and Estimators/Coordinators to facilitate the coordination of various projects, resources, materials, and manpower. In addition to coordination, the successful incumbent will participate in the estimating and bid process to procure new work with our Team.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year's experience of working in Canada's heavy civil sewer and watermain industry.
As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must:
- Be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre) background check.
- Be eligible for and able to obtain Government of Canada Reliability Status (Reliability Clearance), as required for access to government facilities, information, or contracts.
- Provide any documentation necessary to complete the required screening and security clearance process.
Employment is conditional upon successfully meeting these requirements.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate activities, resources, equipment, and information with the sites.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, contracts, and negotiation of changes to contracts with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, etc.
- Assist in tender procurement and all pertinent requirements. Update and maintain schedules identifying impacts.
- Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope, and objectives.
- Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management.
- Analyze risks and opportunities while seeking the procurement of projects.
- Monitor project progress and work to resolve issues proactively, or as they may arise.
- Act as a point of contact and communicate project status to all participants.
- Use tools to monitor working hours, plans, and expenditures.
- Issue all appropriate legal paperwork (e.g. contracts and terms of agreement), in accordance with direction provided by the Construction Project Manager.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
- Ensure standards and requirements are met by conducting quality assurance tests and implementing quality control programs or initiatives.
- Special projects and tasks, as requested by the Construction Project Manager.
Key Qualifications
- Experience with project management/coordination
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to prepare and interpret schedules and understand contract requirements
- Engineering degree, CET, and/or PMP certification considered an asset
- Experience with Microsoft Projects and AutoCAD required
Job Types: Full time, Permanent
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
