Your Role
Reporting to the finance team and working directly with the Financial Controller, the Senior Accounting Technician manages the company's full accounting cycle. This key position requires strong proficiency in monthly closings, strict adherence to established procedures, and great comfort working in a manufacturing ERP environment. We are looking for an autonomous, resourceful, and analytical individual capable of precisely coordinating month-end deadlines and quickly understanding the connections between various accounting cycles.
Key Responsibilities
1. General Ledger & Periodic Closings
- Lead and execute all month-end closing tasks (journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, depreciation).
- Perform bank reconciliations and track cash flow.
- Reconcile the trial balance with sub-ledgers.
- Contribute to the preparation and validation of monthly and annual financial statements.
2. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management (AP/AR)
- Record and audit expense reports/claims.
- Process and enter vendor invoices (accounts payable).
- Perform three-way matching among purchase orders (POs), receiving slips, and invoices.
- Prepare vendor payment runs and record customer cash receipts.
3. Compliance & Financial Administration
- Prepare and file government remittances for Canadian taxes (GST/QST) as well as US tax filings and requirements.
Contribute to operational needs and analysis for the finance team, taking charge of various accounting files based on departmental priorities.
Qualifications & Profile
Job Requirements
- Education: DEC or Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
- Industry: Mandatory experience in the manufacturing sector and working with an ERP system.
- Languages: Professional English proficiency (written and spoken) required for US interactions and accounts.
- Software: Advanced knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas) and proficiency with Google Workspace.
Assets (Nice to Have)
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Knowledge of US sales tax regulations and rules.

Position Details
Full-time position, available as soon as possible at our office located at 1300 St-Patrick Street, Montreal, QC (relocation to our new modern facilities in Brossard scheduled for 2027)
