Job Summary

The Guardian South Condominium is seeking a skilled and experienced Building Operator to join our team in Calgary.

The Guardian South Tower, is a prominent landmark in the Calgary skyline. The building consists of 44 floors and contains over 316 residential units.

The Building Operator will oversee the maintenance, operation, and safety of our facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and facilities management knowledge, along with leadership and customer service skills. This role involves supervising maintenance activities, troubleshooting complex systems, and ensuring the building operates efficiently and safely. The Building Operator will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our manufacturing environment and supporting ongoing facility needs.

Responsibilities

- Oversee daily building operations, including HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and general facilities maintenance
- Supervise maintenance staff and coordinate repair schedules to ensure timely completion of work
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to monitor and control building systems
- Perform welding, electrical repairs, and mechanical troubleshooting as needed
- Read and interpret schematics,



technical manuals, and wiring diagrams for system diagnostics and repairs
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before they impact operations
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and facility regulations
- Lead emergency response procedures and coordinate repairs during outages or system failures
- Provide excellent customer service to internal departments by addressing facility concerns promptly

Experience

- Supervising experience in facilities maintenance or manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong background in electrical work, mechanical systems, welding, and general facilities maintenance
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics interpretation
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment operation is a plus
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English for explicit documentation and team coordination

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 per hour
