Purchasing & Inventory Control Coordinator

We are looking for a Purchasing & Inventory Control Coordinator to join our team and to work out of one of our locations, Kitchener, St. Thomas or Tilbury.

Job Description

- Reviewing Stock Buys for Linear Structural and HSS products from various vendors for compliance to Inventory Target Levels

- Review Vendor Inventory Lists for Buying Opportunities

- Send out RFQ’s for various Carbon Steel Product requirements and present results for management review

- Review and Prepare Aged Inventory Reports by Carbon Branch and Specialty Metal Branches as required

- Facilitate Aged Inventory Reviews by Carbon and Specialty Across the Company on a Monthly basis

- Review MOH for all products and highlight areas of shortages to Individual Branch Managers / Purchasing Council on a Weekly basis

- Run RFQ’s for all stocking events and report findings to the Purchasing Council as needed

- Provide reports on inventory as needed to Purchasing Council

- Review Inventory for scrapping / devaluation lists internally on a monthly basis





- Create Lists of Problematic Inventory to Offer to Low Margin Outlets as required

- Supplier Development – find recent vendors and provide updates on potential new vendors to the Purchasing Council

- Create and manage Vendor KPI’s to measure performance – quality and on time delivery

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Prefer Post- secondary Education – Business, Engineering, Purchasing, Operations Management

- Steel Experience is an asset

Job Type: Full time/permanent Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

Salary: $50,000-$ 60,000K annually plus 20% KPI bonus

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

Education:

- Secondary School (required)

Experience:

- Steel knowledge: 1 year (preferred)
- purchasing: 1 year (preferred)
