Child & Youth Care Worker – Group Home - Casual / Part-Time

Location: North Edmonton – In Person

Shifts: Day, Evening, Awake Overnight, Weekends

Hours: 8–30 hrs/week, with opportunity to pick up extra shifts

Pay: $19.00–$21.50/hr

Language: English– REQUIRED: Clear written and verbal communication to de-escalate crisis situations, direct emergency services, interact with youth/families, and complete precise documentation.

About the Role

Front-line caregiver on an interdisciplinary team (social workers, therapists, support staff). You'll provide daily care, supervision, and therapeutic support for high-risk youth in a group home setting, including life skills instruction, de-escalation, activity planning, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Build therapeutic relationships; provide 1:1 and group counseling using de-escalation, problem-solving, and goal-setting
- Teach living and social skills through role modeling; apply systematic instructional plans
- Plan and facilitate group activities (recreational, educational, therapeutic)
- Deliver day-to-day care: medication administration,



wellness appointments or transportation
- Maintain program environment: cleaning, meals, grocery shopping
- Document all interventions, incidents, and service plan updates
- Operate within CYCW Scope of Practice; mitigate risk per Risk Management Plan
- Awake overnight supervision may be required

Requirements

- Human services degree/diploma and/or 2 years front-line CYCW experience group home preferred competency-based equivalencies
- REQUIRED - Valid driver's licence with $2M liability
- Current within 6 months: Med Admin, First Aid & CPR, Food Secure, Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Check
- To be completed within 6 months of hire: TIC, SPRAM
