About Us

True Shift Psychology is a private psychology practice dedicated to providing comprehensive, holistic mental health and neurodevelopmental care. We believe that true wellness requires an interdisciplinary approach. To better serve our clients, we are expanding our team to bridge the gap between psychological well-being and neurophysiology.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Occupational Therapist (OT) specializing in sensory assessment and integration work to join our team as an Independent Contractor. In this unique role, you will work collaboratively alongside our team of Registered Psychologists to support neurodivergent individuals (including ADHD, Autism, and sensory processing differences), trauma survivors, and clients managing severe emotional dysregulation. You will have access to our on-site sensory gym to deliver dynamic, movement-based interventions. Because our clinic serves a diverse demographic, the successful candidate must have demonstrated experience working with both children and adults, providing age-appropriate sensory formulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Sensory Assessments: Conduct comprehensive sensory processing, motor profiling, and environmental assessments for both pediatric and adult clients.
- Gym-Based Intervention: Utilize our dedicated sensory gym to design and implement movement-based, sensory-integrative treatment plans.
- Interdisciplinary Consultation: Collaborate directly with our psychologists to cross-reference sensory profiles with psychological formulations (e.g., distinguishing sensory overload from trauma responses).
- Caseload Management: Independently manage your digital schedule, client intakes, and electronic clinical documentation using our clinic's software.
- Client Welcoming:

Greet your own clients from the waiting area, as we operate an automated, reception-free clinic space.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Licensure: Active registration (or immediate eligibility) with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist.
- Specialization: Advanced training or a dedicated clinical focus in sensory processing and sensory integration frameworks.
- Demographic Scope: Proven experience confidently assessing and treating both children and adults.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable utilizing Jane and cloud-based billing systems
- Business Readiness: Must maintain active professional liability insurance and an active business number.

What We Offer

- Interdisciplinary Synergy: A rare opportunity to work in tandem with mental health professionals to deliver truly holistic care.
- Dedicated Clinical Space: Access to an on-site sensory gym tailored for movement and integration work.
- Tech-Driven Efficiency: Streamlined, automated platforms for booking and billing that cut out manual admin paperwork.
- Flexible Autonomy: Set your own schedule and build a caseload that matches your ideal capacity.
