Overview
Braefoot Community Association is a non-profit, nature-based early learning program dedicated to nurturing curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning in young children. Our program takes place largely outdoors and emphasizes play-based, child-led learning in natural environments. We believe that meaningful early childhood experiences happen through exploration, discovery, and connection with nature, and are seeking ECE Teachers who share that vision.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and our nature-inspired programming
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning
- Communicate effectively with families and build strong relationships within the community
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and caregivers to support student development and address individual needs, as well as the needs of the group
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques
- Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Promote social-emotional development through activities that encourage communication skills and teamwork
- Follow all licensing, health, and safety guidelines
The Ideal Candidate
- Valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification
- Proven experience in teaching or working with children in an early years setting
- Strong communication skills,
as as the ability to work in a team environment
- Passion for nature-based and outdoor learning
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to motivate students
- Proficiency in computer operation and classroom technology tools
- Exceptional writing skills for lesson planning and documentation
- Ability to create engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that supports all learners’ growth
- Strong understanding of BC Licensing Regulations

Job Types: Full time, Permanent
Pay: Up to $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 – 40.0 per week
