Job Summary

Join our dynamic team at The Maple North Cleaners - Biohazards & Trauma Department as a Biohazard and Crime Scene Handyman, where you'll play a vital role in restoring safety and cleanliness after sensitive incidents at client's homes. This position involves performing restoration tasks with precision and care, handling biohazardous materials, cleaning crime scene areas, and performing restoration tasks with precision and care. Your expertise will help ensure environments are thoroughly sanitized, safe, and ready for the next chapter. Primary Duties

- Use hand tools and power tools to dismantle, repair, or prepare surfaces like floors, walls, ceiling for restoration work. This includes removing carpet, flooring of different types, and sub-flooring in some instances to ensure blood/decomposed body didn't seep through all surfaces.
- Perform minor construction or repair tasks to restore affected areas to their original condition. This includes sealing and painting surfaces.
- Operate restoration equipment such as sanding tools to clean and refurbish spaces
- Maintain detailed logs of cleaning procedures, disposal processes, and restoration activities
- Follow all safety guidelines to prevent contamination or injury during cleanup and restoration efforts

Secondary Duties

- Safely remove and dispose of biohazardous materials following strict safety protocols and regulations
- Clean and disinfect crime scene areas using appropriate cleaning agents and techniques

Requirements

- Experience with dismantling and restoring flooring, sub-flooring, walls, and ceiling as needed.
- Experience with dismantling and re-installing household items like (toilet, sink, cabinets, doors, windows, lights etc.)
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction or restoration work like (circular saw,



reciprocating saw, power drill, box cutters, etc.)
- Background in construction or related trades
- Knowledge of proper biohazard disposal procedures and safety standards
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, discretion, and privacy.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and standing for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and safe disposal practices
- Having your own toolkit + power tools.

What we provide:

- Training on best practices according to OSHA 1910.1030 and according to the Hazard Communication Act.
- Introduction to techniques and standards set by Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC)
- Disinfectants, cleaning products and equipment to clean and disinfect blood, pathogens, and and any Other Potentially Infectious Materials (OPIM) for all types of biohazard/trauma jobs.
- Hazmat suits, safety googles, and N95 rated masks, tape to secure sleeves, and foot covers to ensure safe operation.
- Training on biohazard disposal procedures and safety standards.

Pay: $45.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
