Position Overview

The instructor for the NACC Personal Support Worker (PSW) program must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, with at least two years of recent clinical experience. The role involves delivering the NACC PSW curriculum in both classroom and laboratory environments, ensuring students achieve all required competencies and learning objectives.

Reporting directly to the Director, the instructor is responsible for preparing lesson plans, evaluating student performance, and maintaining accurate documentation in line with NACC standards and institutional policies. The position requires a professional, collaborative approach and a strong dedication to supporting student achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Teach the NACC PSW curriculum using lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on lab instruction.
- Instruct and oversee students in essential PSW skills such as personal care, mobility assistance, safety procedures, and infection prevention.
- Track attendance, input grades, and assess student progress using LMS/CRM platforms.




- Provide academic guidance and offer additional support to students as needed outside scheduled class time.
- Ensure classrooms and labs are safe, organized, and fully prepared for instruction.
- Attend orientations, faculty meetings, and campus-related events as required.
- Maintain current knowledge of PSW standards of practice and active CNO registration.
- Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to NACC and institutional policies.
- Support clinical and lab coordination activities when necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications

- RN or RPN in good standing with the CNO (mandatory)
- Minimum of two years of recent clinical experience
- At least two years of teaching or training experience (required)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Familiarity with the NACC curriculum considered an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Candidates must also meet the instructor qualification requirements outlined in the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005 and be available to teach Hybrid (online and in-person) and at the Scarborough campus as scheduled.
