Job description:

Essential duties and responsibilities

- Obtains copy of production schedule and/or shipping documents
- Loading and unloading of trucks with forklift
- Picking and Staging orders
- Moving goods packed on Pallets or in Totes around the storage facility
- Stacking goods in the correct storage locations, following inventory control instructions
- Checking loads are secure
- Stacking empty pallets
- Performing daily equipment checks
- Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines
- Examining products to verify quantity and quality standards

Qualification requirements

- High School diploma or equivalent
- High degree of attention to detail required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
- Maintain a clean & safe environment
- Clean driving record and a valid motor vehicle operator’s license
- Two years of safe operation on an electric forklift required
- Previous Food Grade Warehousing an asset




- Safety boots required

Physical demands and abilities

- Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
- Having a good sense of balance
- Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
- Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
- Ability to work in cold temperatures, freezer environment
- Able to work in rotating shifts with potential overtime

Progressive pay scale

The successful candidate will start at 85% of base wage. Upon joining the Union (90 days probation period), pay will increase to $22.77 per hour.
