Restaurant Manager
Position Summary
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of Harbour Sixty Steakhouse while ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, and financial performance. This role provides leadership to the front-of-house management team, oversees service standards, drives profitability, and works collaboratively with culinary, beverage, marketing, and administrative teams to achieve the restaurant's strategic objectives.
Core Competencies & Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of management experience in a fine dining or formal restaurant environment.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Proficient with restaurant technology, including POS systems, reservation platforms (e.g., OpenTable), scheduling software (7shifts), Microsoft Office, and social media platforms.
- Working knowledge of inventory management systems.
- Ability to analyze sales reports, financial statements, and key business metrics.
- Knowledge of labour legislation, employment standards, and scheduling best practices.
- Understanding of occupational health and safety requirements.
- Food Handler Certification.
- Smart Serve Certification.
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures and workplace safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and support the Front-of-House Management Team to achieve operational excellence.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching and development, and administer corrective action when required.
- Partner with the General Manager to maintain appropriate management staffing levels.
- Develop and maintain a clear management organizational structure with defined responsibilities and accountability.
- Ensure appropriate Full-Time Employee (FTE) staffing levels are maintained.
- Oversee onboarding, orientation, and training programs for all new employees.
- Ensure service standards are maintained through ongoing training, testing, and performance evaluations.
- Manage employee uniform inventory and ensure payroll deduction documentation is completed accurately.
- Maintain and update onboarding materials, training resources, and operational procedures.
- Review daily tip sheets and ensure all payroll-related communication is completed accurately and on time.
Financial & Business Performance
- Collaborate with the Culinary Team to ensure menu costing supports profitability and food cost targets.
- Partner with the Wine Directors to manage beverage costing and maintain target beverage margins.
- Assist in developing weekly labour forecasts and schedules to achieve labour cost objectives.
- Monitor labour performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity while maintaining service standards.
- Work with senior leadership to monitor fixed and variable operating expenses.
- Review subscriptions, vendor agreements, purchasing, and operating expenses to ensure cost effectiveness.
- Participate in regular forecasting and budgeting meetings.
- Attend monthly Profit & Loss reviews to analyze revenue, labour, cost of goods sold,
operating expenses, and overall financial performance.
- Support initiatives that improve profitability while maintaining Harbour Sixty's service standards.
Operations & Guest Experience
- Plan, organize, and execute daily lunch and dinner service.
- Ensure reservation management, floor plans, staffing levels, and service briefings are completed before each service.
- Lead by example on the dining room floor by interacting with guests, resolving concerns, and supporting the service team.
- Foster meaningful guest relationships to encourage repeat business and exceptional hospitality.
- Maintain Harbour Sixty's standards for service, presentation, cleanliness, and professionalism.
- Collaborate with the Culinary Team on menu planning by reviewing sales trends, guest feedback, and menu performance.
- Partner with Marketing and the Social Media Manager to develop promotional initiatives, special events, and digital engagement strategies that strengthen the Harbour Sixty brand.
- Support business development initiatives designed to increase guest traffic and revenue during key service periods.

Pay: $75,000.00 per year
