About us
We are a well-established trucking company operating a large fleet of tractors and trailers. We are looking for a skilled and reliable Truck & Trailer Mechanic to join our in-house maintenance team at our Milton yard.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on tractors and trailers
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and air systems
- Inspect, service, and repair:
- Engines, transmissions, clutches, and drivetrains
- Brake systems (air brakes), suspension, steering
- Electrical systems, lighting, wiring, and ABS
- Cooling systems, fuel systems, and exhaust
- Tires, wheels, hubs, and axles
- Trailer components (doors, floors, landing gear, sliders, suspension)
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with MTO / CVOR / DOT standards
- Complete annual inspections and safety certifications
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify faults
- Accurately complete repair orders, inspection reports, and maintenance records
- Communicate repair needs and timelines with maintenance management
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid 310T Truck & Coach Technician License (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2–5 years experience working on heavy-duty trucks and trailers
- Robust knowledge of diesel engines and air brake systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and work independently
- Familiar with fleet maintenance environments
- Own basic tools (specialty tools provided by company)
- Valid driver’s license (AZ or DZ an asset)
- Strong attention to detail and safety
