LN Land Development Technologies is looking for an experienced Geotechnical Technician to join our Edmonton team.
This is a great opportunity for a hands-on technical professional who enjoys working in the field, solving problems, and contributing to construction and infrastructure projects from the ground up.
You'll perform geotechnical and materials testing in both field and laboratory environments, working closely with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure work meets project specifications and quality standards.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Perform field and laboratory testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and other construction materials
- Complete field density and compaction testing
- Perform concrete testing, including slump, air content, temperature, and preparation of test specimens
- Collect soil, aggregate, and construction material samples for testing
- Complete laboratory testing in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements
- Monitor construction activities for compliance with project specifications and quality requirements
- Accurately document field observations, test results, and project information
- Prepare clear and detailed field reports and testing documentation
- Communicate test results and potential concerns to supervisors, project teams, and clients
- Coordinate testing requirements with contractors and other field personnel
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate testing equipment as required
- Work independently in the field while managing assigned testing and inspection responsibilities
- Follow all company, client, and site-specific safety requirements
- Maintain LN's standards for safety, accuracy, quality, and customer service
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Diploma or post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology, Geotechnical Engineering Technology, Materials Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Previous experience in geotechnical, materials testing, construction quality control, or a related field
- Experience performing soil compaction and field density testing
- Experience with concrete and aggregate testing
- Strong understanding of construction materials and testing procedures
- Ability to interpret project specifications, drawings, and testing requirements
- Strong technical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and confidently in the field
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Dependable, safety-focused,
and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and site conditions
- Physically able to perform field testing and handle testing equipment and materials
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract
- Ability to work overtime, extended hours, and various schedules based on project requirements
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and meet applicable client/site access requirements
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada on a permanent basis
ASSETS
- CCIL or CSA concrete testing certification
- Experience with nuclear density gauges
- Current radiation safety or nuclear gauge certification
- Experience working on civil, earthworks, industrial, mining, or infrastructure projects
- Experience preparing technical field reports and working directly with clients
- Current construction and industry safety certifications
WORK DETAILS

This is a field-focused position that requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions and active construction environments. Travel to project sites may be required depending on operational needs.
