Position Summary

· We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Electrician instructor that teaches electrical theory and practical skills to diverse groups of students.

· You will create an inclusive and respectful classroom where all students can succeed.

· You will prepare students for careers in the electrical trade.

Key Responsibilities

· Deliver engaging lessons on electrical theory, residential/commercial wiring, and circuit design.

· Teach hands-on wiring techniques, electrical codes, and safety procedures, and industry standards.

· Supervise and guide students during hands-on laboratory sessions to ensure safe tool and equipment handling.

· Create lesson plans, assignments, quizzes, and practical exams that match industry standards and evaluate student progress.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop lab environment.

· Foster an inclusive classroom environment that respects diverse backgrounds, learning styes, and life experiences.

· Use culturally responsive teaching methods to support English language learners and non-traditional students in the trades.

· Stay current with changes in electrical codes, safety regulations, technology, equipment, and industry practices.





· Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback to support skills development and academic progress.

· Mentor and advise students on academic performance and career paths in the electrical trade.

Qualifications & Requirements

Licensure: Valid Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician license.

Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of active field experience in residential, commercial, or industrial electrical work.

Education: Valid electrician license or vocation certification preferred.

Diversity Competency: Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and multicultural awareness in an educational or workplace setting.

Skills: Strong verbal communication, patience, basic computer literacy, and comprehensive knowledge of safety standards (such as OSHA or local electrical codes).

Preferred: Prior teaching, training, or apprenticeship mentorship experience.

Working Conditions

· Combination of classroom instruction, laboratory activities, and hands-on workshop training.

· Ability to stand for long periods and safely lift materials and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 per week
