MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Read specifications to determine quantities of materials required.

o Prepare and clean surfaces using methods such as scraping, sanding, and steam-cleaning; remove old wallpaper and loose paint; repair cracks and holes in walls; and sandpaper and apply sealer.

o Mix and thin paint to obtain desired colour and texture

o Apply paint or other materials, such as stains, lacquer, enamel, oil, varnish,



metal coating or fire retardant using brushes, rollers or spray equipment

o Assemble and erect scaffolding and swing stages

o May advise customer on selection of colour schemes and choice of wall coverings

o May provide cost estimate to clients

o Train and mentor student painters / entry level painter

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

o Completion of secondary school

o Minimum of three (3) years work experience as a painter (interior and exterior)

o Valid Driver’s License

o Excellent teamwork

o Availability for weekend work an asset

Pay: $24.25-$25.00 per hour
