Journeyperson Plumber – Multifamily Construction

Noria Mechanical – Fraser Valley and GVRD

Full-time, permanent

Wage: $32–$55 per hour, based on certification, relevant experience and demonstrated ability

Noria Mechanical is hiring certified Journeyperson Plumbers to join our growing construction team. We specialize in low-rise and mid-rise multifamily apartment buildings throughout the Fraser Valley and eastern Lower Mainland, along with select commercial and residential projects.

We are seeking dependable, experienced journeypersons who can work independently, produce quality installations at a qualified pace and contribute positively to the performance of the crew. Opportunities are available for qualified candidates interested in progressing into lead-hand and foreman positions.

Responsibilities

- Install drainage, waste, vent and domestic water systems in accordance with approved drawings and applicable plumbing codes
- Work with cast iron, System 15, PEX and other commonly specified piping systems
- Perform and lay out underground plumbing, wood-frame rough-in, mains, risers and fixture installations
- Read and interpret mechanical and architectural drawings, specifications and applicable details
- Identify drawing conflicts, coordination issues and potential installation problems before they affect the work
- Plan daily tasks, determine material requirements and communicate upcoming needs to the foreman
- Complete assigned work independently and maintain a steady, productive pace without sacrificing workmanship
- Lead, guide and teach apprentices while checking their work and providing constructive feedback
- Test completed plumbing systems,



identify deficiencies and complete required corrections
- Communicate material shortages, site issues and changes in scope promptly
- Maintain clean, organized and safe work areas
- Work cooperatively and professionally with coworkers, supervisors and other on-site trades
- Work safely at all times, follow company and site-specific safety procedures, use required PPE and immediately report hazards, incidents and near misses

Qualifications

- Valid BC Certificate of Qualification in plumbing or Red Seal endorsement
- Multifamily or commercial new-construction experience is strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of drainage, venting and domestic water systems
- Ability to read drawings, complete layout and perform installations with limited supervision
- Ability to recognize code, coordination and constructability issues
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, mentor and teach apprentices through clear direction, appropriate supervision and constructive feedback
- Dependable attendance, consistent punctuality and a strong work ethic
- Ability to maintain a productive pace and take responsibility for assigned work
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and a reliable personal vehicle for travelling to varying project locations




- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a crew
- Basic plumbing hand tools and required personal protective equipment
- Gas certification, mechanical-room experience, fall-protection training, first aid certification and previous leadership experience are assets
