Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and professional Exterior Glazing, Cladding & Building Envelope Designer to provide technical leadership and support the successful delivery of innovative façade and building envelope projects.

This is a key leadership role responsible for the design, technical development, and documentation of exterior envelope systems, including curtain wall, window wall, glazing systems, rain screen assemblies, composite panels, metal cladding, and other façade applications. The successful candidate will lead the development of practical, high-performance, and code-compliant building envelope solutions that meet project requirements, architectural intent, and industry standards.

Working closely with architects, engineers, project managers, fabricators, contractors, and clients, the successful candidate will provide technical expertise and design leadership throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include overseeing design development, preparing and reviewing detailed drawings and technical details, coordinating project requirements, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards, and supporting the successful execution of projects from concept through completion.





The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong technical knowledge of building envelope systems, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. This role requires the ability to mentor and support team members, manage multiple priorities, make informed technical decisions, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Success in this position will be measured by the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and innovative façade solutions across a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects.

Education & Background

- Degree or diploma in Architectural Technology, Engineering, Construction Technology, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Experience in glazing, curtain wall, window wall, metal cladding, or building envelope design is strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, Inventor, Rhino, or similar CAD and 3D modeling software.
- Strong understanding of building envelope assemblies, materials, and system performance.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, industry standards (ASTM, AAMA, CSA, NFRC), and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Solid technical detailing, analytical,



and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to lead design initiatives and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience

- 5+ years of direct façade or building envelope design experience.
- Experience leading façade design projects and coordinating project teams.
- Experience with unitized and/or stick-built curtain wall systems.
- Familiarity with structural glazing, point-supported glass systems, rain screen assemblies, ACM/MCM panels, and steel or aluminum fabrication.
- Experience with thermal modeling and structural calculations is an asset.
