Job Summary

We are a busy family in South Surrey looking for a warm, reliable and capable Part-Time Family Assistant / Household Manager to become a consistent part of our family's routine.

We have two children, ages 11 and 3. This is a unique position combining childcare for our 3-year-old daughter with family meal preparation, laundry and general household support.

We already have a wonderful nanny who assists our family on other days. This is an additional, long-term position designed to provide our family with more household support and reliable coverage during a very busy stage of life.

Regular Schedule – 19 Guaranteed Hours per Week

- Wednesday: 2:00 pm–9:00 pm
- Thursday: 1:00 pm–8:00 pm
- Sunday: 8:00 am–1:00 pm

There may also be opportunities for additional hours when our regular nanny is away or during particularly busy weeks.

Responsibilities on Wednesday & Thursday

Our daughter is out of the home until approximately 4:30 pm, allowing the first part of each shift to focus on household tasks such as:

- Preparing home-cooked family meals
- Preparing additional meals, soups, baking and snacks for the week
- Washing and preparing fruits and vegetables
- Family laundry, folding and putting clothing away
- Kitchen cleanup and organization
- General household organization and tidying
- Occasional local errands or grocery/household pickups

Once our daughter arrives home, the focus shifts primarily to her:

- Spending time and playing with her
- Preparing/serving her dinner
- Bath and pajamas
- Establishing a comfortable and consistent bedtime routine

Once she is asleep, remaining time can be used for kitchen cleanup.

Sunday

Sunday mornings will primarily involve caring for our 3-year-old daughter while we take our older son to soccer.





Once we return at approximately 11:00 am, the remainder of the shift will focus on meal preparation and getting the household organized and stocked with prepared food for the upcoming week.

Cooking & Meal Preparation

Cooking is an key part of this position.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys preparing home-cooked family food and is comfortable making things such as family dinners, soups, muffins/baking, snacks and prepared ingredients for the refrigerator or freezer.

The Person We're Looking For

- Warm, patient and genuinely enjoys spending time with young children
- Comfortable establishing a consistent evening and bedtime routine with a 3-year-old
- A confident home cook who enjoys meal preparation
- Comfortable with family laundry and household organization
- Organized and able to work independently
- Proactive and able to notice what needs to be done without requiring detailed direction for every task
- Dependable and punctual
- Interested in a consistent, long-term position
- Able to provide excellent references

First Aid/CPR and a current criminal record check are strongly preferred.

A valid driver's licence, clean driving record and reliable vehicle are preferred. Regular driving of our children is not currently required; however, we would like someone who is comfortable driving should this become part of the role in the future. The position may also occasionally involve local errands, such as grocery pickups or picking up household items.

Start date: Early September 2026

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 19.0 per week
