What will you do?

As the Program Manager, you will be at the forefront of achieving the complex, transformative goals outlined in Edmonton’s Community Energy Transition Strategy and Climate Resilient Edmonton: Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan. Your work will align directly with top municipal priorities, including ConnectEdmonton, The City Plan, and our Climate Implementation Priorities. Reporting to the General Supervisor of Energy Transition and Climate Adaptation, you will be key in managing multi-layered corporate, and public programs aimed at promoting program awareness and shifting community behaviors.

- Strategic Leadership: Drive high-impact projects, from policy formulation to program design,



aligning with Edmonton’s Community Energy Transition and Climate Resilience strategies
- Project Oversight: Manage complex initiatives—including the Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP), climate adaptation planning, energy-efficient buildings and community investments—by overseeing procurement, budgets, governance, and delivery to ensure measurable results
- Team Management & Mentorship: Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes operational excellence and adherence to best practices in environmental sustainability
- Community Engagement: Cultivate robust networks with internal and external partners, responding to public inquiries and media requests to build community support and advance shared climate goals
- Operational Excellence: Champion our initiatives by developing Council reports, presentations, and educational materials that raise awareness and drive participation in environmental programs

Qualifications

:

- Minimum Undergraduate degree in Environmental Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Planning, Policy, Business Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive program management experience, including direct experience supervising teams and managing multiple scopes of responsibility in areas such as the setting, water conservation, waste management, energy conservation/efficiency, clean energy, climate resilience, and/or air quality
- Related experience in one or more of the following sectors: government, non-profit / voluntary, real estate, tourism, health, insurance, renewable energy, forestry, industry,



electricity, education, conservation, and/or transportation

Skills required for success:

- Have demonstrated experience managing complex multidisciplinary projects in large organizations
- Be passionate about sustainability and committed to creating a resilient city. Possess strategic vision and creative thinking to develop cutting-edge solutions to complex challenges
- Have senior level change management experience, including experience managing diverse/diverging stakeholder relationships and fostering collaboration to ensure project outcomes and implementation goals are achieved
- Be results-oriented, driven to achieve project goals and deliver tangible outcomes
- Be an environmental champion, passionate about sustainability and climate action

Salary Range: $47.901 - $68.430 (Hourly) $100,017.290 - $142,881.840 (Annually)
