Chemical Operator – Overnight

Location: Ottawa, ON
Pay: $22- $24/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:00 AM–8:30 AM
Contract: Until November 28, 2026

About the Role

We are hiring a Seasonal Chemical Operator to support the safe handling, sorting, and preparation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and sort waste for transportation.
- Receive waste containers and collect samples for analysis.
- Depack, consolidate, and handle various waste materials.
- Complete manifests, paperwork, and safety assessments.
- Follow all safety and environmental procedures.
- Participate in occasional Saturday Household Hazardous Waste events.
- Work primarily outdoors and handle materials weighing up to 40 lbs.

Requirements

- Diploma or degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Environmental Technology, or a related field.
- Solid English communication skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors and occasional weekends.
- Able to repeatedly lift 40 lbs above waist level.
- Safety-focused and detail-oriented.
- Must be able to work clean-shaven for respirator requirements.
- Knowledge of TDG, Ontario Regulation 347, or waste management is an asset.

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
