Job Summary

Responsible for managing day-to-day purchasing, inventory, supplier coordination, invoice processing, and job pricing. I ensure materials are ordered accurately and on time, maintain inventory records, and process supplier invoices for payment. I work closely with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and continually research opportunities to reduce material costs. I also assist with pricing and estimating jobs to ensure accurate and competitive project costs while supporting the overall efficiency and profitability of the company.

Duties

- Maintain and update inventory records and enter inventory information into the company system.
- Order materials and supplies required for ongoing jobs and projects.
- Process and enter supplier invoices for payment.
- Price and estimate jobs based on material costs, labour, and project requirements.
- Communicate and coordinate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, orders, and deliveries.
- Research and compare material pricing from different suppliers to ensure the company receives the best possible prices.
- Negotiate with suppliers when possible to obtain better pricing and purchasing terms.
- Monitor material costs and look for opportunities to reduce expenses and improve profitability.
- Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and supplier records.
- Coordinate material requirements with job and project needs to ensure materials are available when required.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Assist with the day-to-day administrative and purchasing needs of the company.

Requirements





- Robust organizational and time-management skills.
- Experience with inventory management and maintaining accurate records.
- Experience ordering materials and coordinating with suppliers.
- Ability to review, enter, and process invoices accurately.
- Experience pricing jobs and calculating material costs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to research and compare supplier pricing to obtain the best value.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills when dealing with suppliers and vendors.
- Ability to prioritize multiple orders, projects, and deadlines.
- Basic understanding of purchasing, material costs, and job profitability.
- Proficient computer skills and ability to learn and use inventory, accounting, and office software.
- Ability to work independently and make cost-conscious purchasing decisions.
- Previous experience in office administration, purchasing, estimating, or a related field is an asset.
