We are located on the West End of Edmonton, conveniently just off the Anthony Henday.
The Patient Referrals Coordinator will be responsible for the management and coordination of referrals received at Alberta Reproductive Centre. The role ensures that patients are set up for success for embarking on their fertility journey by providing proper instruction and intake. Coordination with our expert team of physicians and staff through strong communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Creating patient chart in EMR.
- Addressing patient inquiries via phone, email and EMR.
- Receiving and sorting patient referrals.
- Managing the referrals waitlist.
- Sending preliminary labs (as required).
- Communicating with referring physicians and sending them appointment notifications.
- Communicating to the patient(s) what to expect when they arrive at ARC for their in-person appointment or on a virtual consultation.
- Uploading previous charts and investigations into the EMR.
- Maintaining the utmost confidentiality with all patients.
- Assisting with general office duties.
- Abiding by and following ARC’s policies and procedures.
Qualification & Licensures
- Medical Office Assistant Certificate, Medical Office Administrator Certificate, or equivalent course.
Experience, Skills & Abilities
- 1 year experience in a fertility clinic is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of confidentiality, and a high degree of discretion.
- Effective communication skills both verbally and written.
- Ability to work as a team and individually.
- Excellent time management and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize, organize workload and plan independently.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
- Advanced computer skills.
- History of a pattern of valuable attendance and work performance.
- EMR experience is an asset.
- Commitment to patient centered, inclusive care.
