Job Summary
We are seeking a hardworking and safety-conscious Tire & Lube Technician to join our automotive team at Canadian Tire in Cochrane, Alberta. In this role, you will be the backbone of our shop’s maintenance services, ensuring every vehicle that leaves our bays is safe, serviced, and road-ready. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will perform high-volume tire and lubrication services with a focus on precision and efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong mechanical aptitude, and maintains a "safety-first" mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Tire & Wheel Services
- Installation & Repair: Professionally install, balance, rotate, and repair tires for passenger and light truck vehicles.
- Specialty Services: Perform advanced tire services, including specialty fitments and seasonal changeovers.
- TPMS Management: Accurately diagnose, service, and reset Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).
- Safety Compliance: Strictly follow all torque specifications and tire inflation safety procedures to ensure guest safety.
Lubrication & Battery Maintenance
- Oil & Filter Services: Perform efficient oil changes paired with thorough multi-point vehicle inspections.
- Battery Service: Test, diagnose, install, and register automotive batteries using specialized diagnostic equipment.
- Quality Control: Perform rigorous quality control checks on all work performed before the vehicle is released to the customer.
Shop Operations & Leadership
- Equipment Care: Maintain tire changers, balancers, and battery service equipment in proper working condition.
- Team Support: Act as a resource for the shop, providing support and guidance to fellow technicians when required.
- Safety & OHS:
Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards and company safety policies at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Licensing: Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Tools: Candidates must have their own tools suitable for automotive maintenance.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment and consistently lift up to 25 kg (approx. 55 lbs).
- Technical Mindset: Strong safety awareness and a high level of attention to detail regarding vehicle specifications.
- Reliability: A proven track record of punctuality and a willingness to strictly comply with all company policies.
Schedule & Availability
- Full-time position.
