The Opportunity

Our client, an established organization in the transportation and logistics industry, is seeking a hands-on Senior Controller to support the integration of a recently acquired business.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys stepping into an evolving environment, bringing structure to manual or outdated processes, and leading finance and systems improvements. The Senior Controller will play a key role in documenting and improving processes, supporting the transition from Sage 50 to Sage Intacct, and integrating appropriate activities into the organization's shared services environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess and document finance and operational processes across billing, AR/collections, AP, banking, payroll, month-end, and job costing.
- Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, key-person dependencies, and opportunities for automation and stronger controls.
- Support the Sage 50 to Sage Intacct migration, including data mapping, migration, testing, reconciliations, and cutover.
- Help determine which activities should transition to Shared Services and develop procedures to support a successful handover.




- Work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, IT, and existing management to coordinate integration activities.
- Maintain visibility into integration progress, risks, outstanding issues, and required decisions.
- Provide hands-on Controller and accounting support as needed throughout the transition.

What We're Looking For

- Senior Controller, Controller, or similar hands-on finance leadership experience.
- Strong full-cycle accounting and financial operations experience.
- Experience improving and documenting processes within a small to mid-sized business setting.
- Previous experience with business integrations, acquisitions, finance transformations, or Shared Services transitions.
- Hands-on Sage Intacct implementation or migration experience strongly preferred.
- Transportation, logistics, distribution, or similar operational industry experience is an asset.
- Comfortable working at both the strategic and detailed execution level.
- Available to work full-time, on-site in Fort Erie for a minimum four-month contract.

Pay: $80.00-$100.00 per hour
