Role: Microsoft DLP / DSPM Specialist
Structure: 12 month contract to start
Location: Downtown Montreal, QC Hybrid, 3 days per week in office
Rates: $110.00 - $125.00 p/h INC.

Deliverables
- Lead the Symantec DLP to Microsoft Purview DLP Endpoint migration, performing detailed policy and coverage gap analysis, designing like-for-like and compensating controls, supporting progressive rollout, and continuously validating detection effectiveness, user impact, and security coverage.
- Assess the existing DLP, CASB, Endpoint, Information Protection, and data security architecture and develop a target-state reference architecture integrating Microsoft Purview, DLP, DSPM, data classification/labeling, Insider Risk, Access Governance, and Zero Trust principles across on-premises, Microsoft 365, multi-cloud, and SaaS environments.
- Define and execute the organization's DSPM strategy and roadmap, including sensitive data discovery, shadow/stale/orphaned data identification, data sprawl and exposure analysis, risk-based remediation, governance, ownership models, metrics, and controls supporting secure Microsoft 365 Copilot and Generative AI adoption.
- Provide strategic DLP/DSPM leadership through technology assessments, migration scenario comparisons, Microsoft E5 capability optimization, industry benchmarking, stakeholder workshops, executive reporting, and prioritized recommendations for preventive, detective, compensating, and governance controls.
Experience Required
- 5+ years of Information Security experience with deep specialization in DLP, including architecture, implementation, operations, control design, gap analysis,
and recent hands-on experience planning and delivering Microsoft Purview DLP migrations; senior-level candidates with broader 10+ years of security experience are preferred.
- Deep Microsoft Purview experience is mandatory, particularly Purview DLP for Microsoft 365 and Endpoint, including policy design, Endpoint DLP, data classification and sensitivity labeling, monitoring, policy tuning, control effectiveness, and integration with the broader Microsoft security ecosystem; Symantec DLP migration experience is highly desirable.
- Strong DSPM and data discovery expertise across on-premises, Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, GCP, SaaS, and collaboration environments, including identifying sensitive data, shadow/abandoned data, data sprawl, oversharing, stale/orphaned content, excessive permissions, high-risk repositories, and tainted data combinations.
- Demonstrated expertise developing risk-based remediation and Data Protection architectures integrating DLP, DSPM, Information Protection, Insider Risk, IAM/Access Governance, CASB, SIEM/logging, cloud security, and Zero Trust, with the ability to establish governance models, remediation priorities, KPIs, ownership, and executive reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, with strong stakeholder facilitation and bilingual French/English communication skills; experience with Symantec DLP/Agent, WSS Agent, CloudSOC, CrowdStrike Falcon, Microsoft E5, AI/Copilot data security readiness, and complex regulated environments is highly desirable.
