Rainbow Contractors designs & builds architectural woodwork solutions for our numerous retail, institutional and commercial clients. We manufacture our products in-house in our production facility in Calgary, AB and we work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to constantly innovate our product offerings.

We are seeking a qualified woodworking machine operator to run our CNC and Edgebander equipment.

Once fully engineered parts processed on our Thermwood CNC machine, some of the edges require edgebanding protection done with our Fravol edgebanding machine.

Responsibilities and Duties

- Maintain a protected work environment and work safely, making certain that anyone around the workstation(s) will not be in jeopardy to injury
- Ensures all manufactured components meet quality and production targets.
- Performs machine setups (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle.
- Controls and adjusts the functions and settings of machines (e.g. speed).
- Maintain tools, tooling, equipment, and working area, including regular preventative maintenance.
- Willingness to continually improve and update skills




- Must be able to read and interpret specifications and/or follow written and verbal instructions
- General production shop duties, required from time to time
- Qualifications and Skills
- CNC Experience
- Edgebanding experience
- Intermediate computer skills
- Experience in using machine tools.
- A good eye for detail, quality and the ability to use precision measuring tools
- A strong mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills
- Confidence in skills and able to work independently
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work effectively and safely under pressure and in a rapidly changing environment
- Physically fit, must be able to safely lift a minimum of 20kg
- Punctual and reliable
- Forklift experience or previous cabinetry experience an asset
- Demonstrated team player & good communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00-$34.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 44.0 per week
