About the Role:

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is seeking a physically fit, customer-focused Assistant Furniture Mover to join our team. In this role, you will work alongside our Lead Driver to handle furniture pickups from donors and deliveries to clients across the community. When you aren't on the road, you will support daily operations as a Warehouse Worker at our York St. and Elias St. store locations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Pickups & Deliveries: Safely assist with loading, unloading, and packing furniture donations on daily delivery routes.
- Client Communication: Call clients prior to arrival, field incoming calls on the road, and maintain consistent contact with the dispatcher.
- Customer Service: Provide polite, empathetic, and discreet service during donor and client interactions; assist with resolving on-site customer concerns.
- Administrative Duties: Accurately complete required field paperwork and delivery logs.
- Warehouse & Floor Support:



Maintain store merchandising standards, assist in the warehouse, and greet retail customers when not on truck duty.
- Safety & Maintenance: Keep company vehicles, compounds, and work areas clean and free of safety hazards in accordance with standard procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Ability to regularly lift 50+ lbs and handle heavy furniture.
- Strong communication skills in spoken and written English.
- Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
- Ability to work flexibly under pressure and meet daily route deadlines.
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Background Check.
