Mandate connects companies with our community of hand-picked specialists to help solve marketing automation, lifecycle, deliverability, newsletter and database monetization challenges.

We're looking for a junior developer to support the day-to-day maintenance and development of the Mandate platform. This is an entry-level role, working closely with and under the guidance of a senior developer, offering hands-on experience across both frontend and backend work.

Responsibilities

As a Junior Developer, you will:

- Support day-to-day website maintenance: Monitor the platform, apply routine updates, and address bugs and issues as they come up.
- Contribute to frontend development: Work on UI components, layout fixes, and feature updates under the guidance of a senior developer.
- Contribute to backend development: Assist with database updates, API integrations, and backend fixes as directed by the senior development team.
- Support QA and testing: Help test features and fixes before launch, documenting issues found.
- Use version control: Track and manage changes with Github, following the team's existing workflow.
- Document your work: Keep clear records of changes made, bugs fixed, and tasks completed.




- Collaborate with the senior developer: Ask questions, participate in code reviews, learn established coding practices, and grow your skills through regular check-ins and mentorship.

What We're Looking For

- Foundational technical skills: Some experience or training in web development (frontend and/or backend) — through study, bootcamp, personal projects, or early professional experience.
- Basic familiarity with Github: Comfortable with, or open to learning, version control fundamentals.
- Basic understanding of APIs and databases: Some exposure to working with APIs or SQL-based databases is a plus, but not required.
- Willingness to learn: Comfortable receiving guidance and feedback, and building skills on the job.
- Attention to detail: Able to follow instructions and technical guidelines carefully, documenting work clearly.
- Reliable communication: Comfortable asking questions and flagging issues to the senior developer and team.
- Curiosity and initiative: Interested in growing into a stronger developer over time, with support from the team.

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
