We are currently seeking a reliable, hands-on, and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our team and contribute to the upkeep of one of our residential properties in Ottawa.
Job Position Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, presentation, and overall condition of the property. This position combines daily cleaning responsibilities with light maintenance and general building support.
We are looking for someone dependable who takes pride in their work, is comfortable working independently, and understands the importance of maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming environment for residents.
Key Responsibilities
The tasks and responsibilities of a Cleaner include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of all common areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, amenity spaces, washrooms, stairwells, and other shared areas.
- Perform daily cleaning duties, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, and garbage removal.
- Clean and prepare vacant apartments for new tenants, ensuring units are clean, presentable, and ready for occupancy.
- Maintain building entrances, exterior areas, walkways, and other assigned areas in a clean and presentable condition.
- Clean and maintain garbage and recycling areas.
- Assist with light maintenance and general building tasks, including minor repairs,
touch-ups, painting, changing light bulbs, assembling furniture or equipment, and moving items as required.
- Assist with the setup and preparation of common areas and amenity spaces when required.
- Identify and report maintenance, safety, cleanliness, or building issues to the Property Manager or Building Manager.
- Assist with responding to day-to-day building needs and ensuring issues are addressed promptly.
- Follow established cleaning procedures, health and safety standards, and company policies.
- Properly use, maintain, and store cleaning supplies, equipment, and tools.
- Maintain an organized supply room and notify management when cleaning or maintenance supplies need to be replenished.
- Interact professionally and respectfully with residents, contractors, visitors, and members of the management team.
- Support the building management team with other reasonable cleaning, maintenance, and general building-related duties as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous experience in cleaning, building maintenance, property maintenance, or handyman work is an asset.
- Experience working in a residential, commercial, hotel, or condominium setting is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, responsible, and dependable.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize daily tasks.
- Comfortable performing physical and hands-on work.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance, repairs, painting, tools, or building-related tasks is an asset.
- Professional, respectful, and customer-service-oriented when interacting with residents and contractors.
- Ability to identify and report maintenance, safety, or property issues promptly.
- Must be physically capable of performing cleaning and light maintenance duties, including standing and walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, and moving items as required.
- Ability to follow instructions, company procedures, and workplace health and safety requirements.

Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Position: Full-Time – 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday
