Job Summary

Join our dedicated team as a Residential Support Worker and become a vital part of creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for an individual in need of support. In this role, you will provide compassionate care, assist with daily living activities, and foster independence while ensuring the safety and well-being of those you serve. Duties

- Support a female with developmental delays with daily routines, including personal care, medication dispensing meal preparation, and household tasks
- Encourage and facilitate participation in recreational activities, social outings, and skill-building exercises
- Monitor resident’s health and safety, responding promptly to any emergencies or concerns
- Maintain accurate records of resident's progress, incidents, and daily activities
- Promote positive behavior through consistent support strategies and respectful communication
- Collaborate with family and other team members
- Uphold health and safety standards by adhering to policies and conducting regular environment checks

Experience





- Previous experience working with vulnerable populations or in a care/support workplace is preferred but not essential; we value enthusiasm and a caring attitude above all
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with resident, team members, family and external partners
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism
- Basic understanding of safeguarding procedures and health & safety regulations in residential settings
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts as needed

Support is required every other weekend (2 weekends a month) from Friday at 4pm to Monday at 9am. This position requires staff to support the individual the whole weekend.
