Position Summary
We are looking for an organized and dependable Shipping & Receiving / Forklift Operator to support our manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for receiving incoming materials, organizing and storing sheet goods and inventory, moving materials throughout the shop, and assisting with loading finished cabinetry for delivery.
A large portion of the day will be spent operating a forklift, so the ideal candidate is an experienced and confident forklift operator who can work independently and keep materials organized and moving efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Inventory
- Receive incoming sheet goods, materials, hardware, and other inventory.
- Unload lifts and skids from supplier trucks using a forklift.
- Verify incoming materials and ensure receiving paperwork is provided to the Purchasing department.
- Label and organize incoming sheet goods and materials.
- Put materials away in their designated shelving and storage locations.
- Maintain an organized receiving and inventory area.
- Ensure materials are stored safely and can be easily identified and accessed.
Forklift & Material Handling
- Operate a forklift throughout the manufacturing facility on a daily basis.
- Move lifts, skids, sheet goods, and other materials throughout the shop.
- Supply machining departments with the materials required for production.
- Pull and stage sheet goods so they are organized and ready for machining.
- Move materials between storage and production areas as required.
- Maintain organized material flow throughout the shop.
Shipping
- Stage finished cabinetry and skids for upcoming deliveries.
- Load skids of finished cabinets onto delivery trucks using a forklift.
- Ensure products are loaded safely and efficiently.
- Assist with maintaining an organized shipping and staging area.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous counter balance forklift operating experience required.
- Comfortable operating a forklift for a significant portion of the workday.
- Experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, manufacturing, or material handling is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify, label, sort, and properly store materials.
- Able to work independently and manage daily responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Dependable and able to keep materials moving according to production needs.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Able to safely perform physical material-handling duties as required.
What Success Looks Like
The right person for this role keeps our materials organized, labelled, accessible, and ready when production needs them. Incoming materials are received and put away promptly, machining departments have the sheet goods they need, receiving paperwork is properly handled, and finished cabinetry is safely staged and loaded for delivery.
Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
