Position Overview
We are looking for a Shipping, Receiving & Junior Assembly Associate to join our production team.
This is not a traditional warehouse position. The successful candidate will work at the final stage of our cabinet manufacturing process, handling shipping and receiving while also supporting production with minor assembly, adjustments, and rework.
The ideal candidate will have experience in cabinetry, millwork, woodworking, or a similar manufacturing environment and understand cabinet components, materials, hardware, and basic assembly methods.
ResponsibilitiesShipping & Finished Products
- Package and prepare finished cabinetry and millwork for delivery
- Handle doors, fillers, crown/riser components, panels, and other finished parts
- Move and stage cabinets and finished products for shipping
- Verify products are properly identified, protected, and organized by job
- Assist with loading deliveries
Receiving & Materials
- Receive and unload incoming deliveries
- Operate a forklift to unload trucks and move materials
- Check deliveries against packing slips and other paperwork
- Report damaged, missing, or incorrect materials
- Organize hardware, drawer slides, hinges, screws, accessories, and other production supplies
- Maintain organized and accessible material storage
Junior Assembly & Rework
- Perform minor cabinet assembly and adjustments
- Complete small repairs and rework before products are shipped
- Assemble or modify cabinet components as required
- Use hand tools and power tools, including drills, impact drivers, screwdrivers, and other woodworking tools
- Follow shop drawings, instructions, and established assembly methods
- Assist the production team with miscellaneous woodworking and assembly tasks
Organization & Housekeeping
- Keep shipping, receiving, assembly, and storage areas clean and organized
- Maintain clear aisles and designated storage locations
- Keep materials and finished products properly labelled and easy to locate
- Take ownership of the condition and organization of the department
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in cabinet making, millwork, woodworking, furniture manufacturing, or a related industry
- Basic understanding of cabinet construction and terminology
- Ability to identify common cabinetry components, materials, and hardware
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Ability to read and follow shop drawings and written instructions
- Forklift certification required or willingness to obtain certification
- Comfortable with shipping/receiving paperwork
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Reliable, punctual, and physically capable
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely handle heavy and bulky cabinetry and materials
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and standing
- Ability to move large cabinets using appropriate equipment and safe handling practices
- Ability to perform team lifting or use mechanical assistance when required
The Right Candidate
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, mechanically inclined, organized, and detail-oriented.
This position is a great opportunity for:
- Graduates of woodworking, cabinetmaking, carpentry, or furniture manufacturing programs
- Candidates with some woodworking experience who are looking to start or build a career in the cabinetry and millwork industry
- Junior-level candidates who are comfortable using hand and power tools and want to develop their production and assembly skills
- Experienced woodworking or cabinetry workers looking for a role that combines production, shipping, receiving, and material organization
You should understand that a cabinet shop is different from a general warehouse. You should be comfortable around woodworking tools, cabinetry components, hardware, drawings, and production equipment.
Most importantly, you should take pride in cleanliness, organization, accuracy, and quality and be the type of person who sees something out of place and fixes it without being asked.
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 42.0 per week
