About the role:
The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patientsand families. Reporting to the Manager,
Centre for Complex Diabetes Care, theCCDC Dietitian will perform all duties of a Registered Dietitian, following the scope of practice defined by the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience in a clinical area/hospital settingas a Registered Dietitian.
- Current registration in good standing with the College ofDietitians of Ontario required.
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or be eligible to write and successfully pass the CDE exam
Skills/Abilities:
- Experience in the care of patients with complex chronic disease
- Sound working knowledge and understanding nutrition strategiesfor both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes
- Demonstrated adult education skills
- Demonstrates patient/family counselling skills to support self‑managementof chronic disease
- Entry‑level enteral and parenteral nutrition supportskills required
- Effective communication, facilitation and presentation skills
- Proficient in computer applications and software, and theutilization of telemedicine
- Coordinate clinical evidence based practices
- Experience working in an interprofessional team
- Demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving and conflictresolution skills
- Demonstrated organization and time management skills
- Proven flexibility and ability to adapt positively to change
Assets:
- Experience working with Indigenous population
- Experience working with disenfranchised and food insecurepopulation
Salary Range:
$41.680 to 53.280
