Position Overview:

Responsible for supporting the Accounting Department with day-to-day accounting and finance activities ensuring the timely and accurate recording of entries and adherence to the Organization’s accounting policies, procedures and practices.

Responsibilities:

- Performs monthly Bank Reconciliation of CAD and US accounts, preparing adjusting journal entries /as necessary.
- Undertakes, prepares, analyzes and reconciles a variety of financial reports.
- Assists with Month-End / Quarter-End / Year-End closings, including: preparation of journal entries to GL (Bank transactions not recorded through sub-ledgers, amortization and depreciation of FA, intangible assets, PPD); preparation and posting of accruals (Commission, Royalties, etc.); Balance Sheet accounts analysis and reconciliation.
- Undertakes Daily Cash Projections (monitoring of cash positions for all accounts, preparing status report on cash balances and projections).
- Prepares Sales Reports.
- Participates in year-end audits responding to auditor requests.
- Participates in year-end inventory count including reconciliation and analysis.
- Participates in the annual budget preparation.
- Manages customer master data setup.
- Take part in continuous improvement projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- University/College diploma (General Business or Accounting) combined a professional accounting designation (CPA); or working towards accounting designation.




- 2+ or more years' general/Full-cycle accounting experience, preferably in a multi divisional manufacturing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to present qualified courteous manner in all dealings both externally and internally.
- High level of proficiency with accounting software as well as Microsoft Office suite of products and in particular, Excel spreadsheet creation and manipulation.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude. Leads by example.
- Self-motivated. Able to work independently with minimum direction.
- Possesses robust analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and understand underlying principles, resolve complex issues, etc.
- Able to plan, prioritize and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Performs with a high attention to details and high degree of accuracy.
- Experience with AMTECH and SAP an asset
