Strategic Arts Management (SAM) seeks an Administrator for a permanent, (35 hours per week*) contract.
Since 2007, Strategic Arts Management has been providing administration, management, mentorship and other services to artists and arts organizations at affordable, subsidized rates.
Responsibilities The Administrator is responsible for day-to-day operations, office management, and results. The Administrator also supports SAM staff and SAM board members in projects in sponsorship, development, communications, research, and beyond.
This position will record and track the progress of actions arising from SAM’s Strategic Plan and will maintain our database records of our stakeholders, including service providers, clients, donors, etc. It is also responsible for keeping SAM’s policies and procedures up to date and accessible.
The Administrator will be paid $22.00 per hour and work from SAM’s Halifax location. The option to work remotely occasionally can be a consideration. * Hours will be reviewed after initial training period, 6 months.
Qualifications
• Degree or diploma in business, marketing, public relations, or arts administration, or the equivalent in experience.
• Demonstrable interest in the arts, good computer and organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as under supervision.
• Robust ability to collect and organize data, compile text and numerical reports,
and track key calendar dates to meet commitments and deadlines.
• Experience managing communications via website and social media is an asset.
• Proficient communication skills in French are an asset.
