Founded in 2006, Triple Eight Transport Inc is an asset-based carrier company with terminals in Abbotsford, Calgary, and Edmonton! We provide Full Truck Load Transportation Services to and from major cities in Western Canada and Western US with our own fleet of Reefers, and Dry Vans.

The Afterhours Dispatch is responsible for building and maintaining strong business relationships with multiple drivers to seamlessly coordinate them to successfully service customer loads. Monitor logistic transactions in the evening while communicating effectively and efficiently both internally and externally to achieve high levels of service.

Responsibilities will include:

Planning & Routing

- Plan daily routes for pickups and deliveries within the assigned region.
- Optimize routing to maximize driver productivity and minimize delays.
- Ensure efficient allocation of drivers, equipment, and trailers.
- Adjust routes and schedules based on volume changes or operational needs.

Dispatch Execution

- Dispatch drivers and communicate route instructions and job details.
- Monitor daily operations and proactively manage delays or service disruptions.
- Update the TMS system with accurate load, route, and driver information.




- Coordinate with drivers to ensure timely completion of pickups and deliveries.

Driver Coordination

- Provide daily operational directions and support to assigned drivers
- Manage schedule changes, route adjustments, and operational updates.
- Ensure drivers follow company policies, safety requirements, and operational procedures.
- Escalate driver or operational issues to the Manager when required.

Operational Coordination

- Coordinate with warehouse teams, customer service, and other operational departments.
- Maintain communication with the Team Lead and Manager regarding operational issues.
- Support smooth freight flow between city operations and line-haul operations.

Service Performance & Problem Resolution

- Monitor service performance and address operational challenges affecting deliveries.
- Escalate service risks or operational disruptions to the Manager.
- Support operational recovery plans during service disruptions.

Qualifications

- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Must have reliable transportation
- Strong problem solving skills
- Proven team player with ability to align position goals with corporate strategic goals




- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a dispatch or planning role required
- Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience would be an asset
- Some post-secondary education is an asset
- Must be legally allowed to work full time in Canada

Shift:

- Must be available to work weekends (Morning or Evening Shift).
- Must be able to work three weekdays 3PM - 11:30PM or 11:00PM- 7:00AM.
