Reports to: After 3 in Manor Park Program Coordinator

Position Designation: Part-time, permanent

Pay rate: $18.50/hr

Position Begins: September 2 , 2026

Hours: Monday-Friday- 2:30pm-6pm

Professional Development Days and Summer Camp- 8:30am-5pm

Overview:

After 3 in Manor Park (A3) provides children in grades SK to 4 with quality recreational programming through the school year. The program operates at the Manor Park Community Center, located at 100 Thornwood Road from 3:00pm-6:00pm. Children are encouraged to develop friendships and skills through games, sports and other planned recreational activities while taking advantage of the large green space, baseball diamonds and soccer fields.

The program follows the OCDSB school calendar. Full day programming is provided on OCDSB career development days.

Summer Day Camps in Manor Park offers weekly themed, full day programming to children ages 4-10 years old. Summer day camps employ roughly 3 counselors and accepts Focus on Youth students and volunteers. This program runs for 9 weeks.

Essential Job Functions:

The responsibilities of the A3 Program Assistant include, but are not limited to:

- For After 3 Program:
- Support A3 Program Coordinator with any admin and/or programming tasks
- Set up the Community Centre (CC) for children’s arrival at 3pm
- Set up planned activities prior to the children arriving
- Conduct cleaning tasks in the CC when required
- Ensure children arrive at the program from the school/bus safely
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment for children and staff
- Act as a positive role model for children, demonstrating kindness, patience,



and respect in all interactions
- Follow all policies and procedures
- For Summer Day Camps, where required:
- Assist Camp Coordinator with reasonable tasks
- Liaise with parents
- Support other camp counsellors, Focus On Youth or volunteers
- This could include redirection Focus On Youth or volunteers behaviors into more meaningful tasks
- Supporting the smooth operation of daily camp life
- Opening or securing the building at start or end of day
- Answer camp staff questions pertaining to camps or daily operations
- Ensuring camp’s overall safety (including lockdowns, fire of evacuation)
- Ensuring staff are engaging with the campers and staying on task
- Liaising with Focus On Youth monitors or Supervisors
- Ensuring all children are safe and accounted for
- Attend staff meetings, as required
- Follow all policies and procedures

Requirements:

- Working with children: 1 year
- Up to date First Aid and CPR level C certification
- Clear vulnerable sector check (within the last 6 months)
- Ability to speak and write in English
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and staff
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead a team and remain calm, patient, and organized in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to understand, follow and complete oral and written directions
- Skill in the use of common computer programs and office machines, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Amilia
- HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) certificate (an asset)

Pay: $17.60-$18.50 per hour
