In this position you will…
Lead the AI squad's people, roadmap, and technical standards - translating business priorities into a coherent AI strategy across the AI Rater, conversational AI, and internal productivity tooling - while staying hands-on.
You will be responsible for…
- Designing and scaling production-ready AI/ML infrastructure, data pipelines, and system architectures.
- Leading the end-to-end lifecycle of AI models from prototyping to deployment, monitoring, and continuous integration.
- Managing, mentoring, and growing a high-performing team of AI engineers and data scientists.
- Partnering with product, design, and executive leadership to translate business goals into technical AI roadmaps.
- Evaluating and choosing optimal foundation models, open-source frameworks, and cloud AI infrastructure.
- Establishing rigorous engineering best practices, coding standards, and review processes across the AI team.
- Monitoring and optimizing cloud compute and API costs related to model training and inference.
- Ensuring AI systems comply with data privacy laws, security protocols, and ethical guardrails.
- Implementing robust observability tools to track model drift, latency, and overall system reliability.
You will require the following qualifications and skills
- 8+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in a technical lead or engineering management role
- Proven track record leading a team that shipped AI/LLM-powered products end-to-end
- Technical depth to review architecture, set engineering standards (prompting, evaluation, guardrails), and unblock the team hands-on
- Experience owning a technical roadmap and translating business goals (automated rating, lead qualification, agent copilots) into engineering plans
- People leadership: hiring, mentoring, and performance management across AI Engineers and Senior AI Engineers
- Cross-functional partnership with Product, Compliance/Legal, and Sales - especially on AI governance in a regulated industry
- Experience with vendor/model strategy: evaluating LLM providers, cost/performance tradeoffs, build-vs-buy calls
- Strong grasp of LLMOps and the infrastructure needed to scale AI features reliably across a SaaS platform
- Skilled at communicating AI strategy, risk, and results to non-technical stakeholders and leadership
- Stays hands-on with AI-assisted engineering tools and retains technical credibility with the team
