Baker / Chef – Coffee Window + Catering

Vernon, BC | Part-Time | 3–5 mornings per week

$25–$28/hour depending on experience

We’re looking for someone really, really good.

Someone who gets excited about making food that people talk about.

We’re opening a new coffee window and we want the food to be just as memorable as the space itself — beautiful, creative, a little unexpected, and absolutely delicious.

We’re looking for an experienced baker / chef to join us in the early mornings and take the lead on creating the food coming out of our window, while also helping with prep for our catering and events.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Arrive early and prepare fresh baked goods and food for the coffee window
- Create beautiful, unique and seasonal pastries, baked goods and grab-and-go items
- Help develop a rotating menu of “you have to try this” items
- Bring your own ideas, creativity and personality to the food program
- Prepare components and menu items for our catering and private events
- Assist with larger-scale catering prep when needed
- Maintain excellent quality, consistency and presentation
- Keep the kitchen organized, clean and effective
- Manage prep lists, ingredients and food inventory
- Work independently and confidently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards
- Help us continually evolve and improve what we offer

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR You’re an experienced baker, pastry chef, chef or seriously talented food professional who:

We’re especially interested in someone who has a point of view.

We don’t want to simply sell another muffin and cookie.

We want someone who can look at a seasonal ingredient, a trend, an old recipe or an interesting flavour combination and think:

“I could make something really cool with that.”

THE SCHEDULE

This is a 3–5 day/week part-time position, primarily early mornings.

Morning shifts will generally begin early enough to have everything fresh and ready for opening. Exact hours will vary depending on the production schedule and catering calendar.

There may also be opportunities for additional hours during larger catering weeks and events.
