Job Purpose

Provide a safe and welcoming environment for all students attending the Before & After School Program.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Before & After School Program Coordinator.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Supervise children in a 15:1 ratio.

- Create positive, meaningful, and appropriate connections/relationships with children.

- Implement age-appropriate activities.

- Ensure the safety of all children while attending the program.

- End of day cleaning and sanitizing of the program space and materials.

- Communicate with Coordinator and child’s parents about behaviours or unusual occurrences.

- Collaborate and work as a team with other program workers and educators.

- Provide casual relief in the Rosewood Early Learning & Family Centre when required.

- Provide care on school PD days, which includes implementing activities, serving children food, and supervising children on excursions.

Other duties may be assigned.





Education and Experience

- Secondary education preferred (Grade 10 minimum).

- Experience working with children ages 0 – 12 years.

- Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search is required.

- First Aid and CPR is an asset.

Working Conditions

- In-person located at St. Terese of Lisieux School.

- This is a casual position. The B&A; programs operates from September – June.

- Hours of work are based on operational need during Monday – Friday.

- Regular shifts are 3 hours each. AM shift is 7:30am – 10:30am and PM shifts is 3:00pm – 6:00pm. PD Days are up to 8 hour shifts.

- Work indoors and outdoors.
