Can-Traffic Services is growing - and we’re looking for a strong leader to join our Airdrie team!
Can-Traffic Services is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to oversee the day to day operations of our Airdrie branch, with a strong focus on traffic signal maintenance and construction.
This role is ideal for an experienced Traffic Signal Technician, Project Manager, or electrical/traffic infrastructure professional who understands the field and can effectively lead people, projects, customers, and operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping maintenance and construction operations on track, ensuring crews and resources are properly coordinated, and maintaining strong communication between the Airdrie branch and our head office in Sherwood Park.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Airdrie branch
- Manage traffic signal maintenance and construction projects from planning through completion
- Coordinate crews, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and resources
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, productivity, and priorities
- Ensure maintenance service commitments and construction deadlines are met
- Provide leadership and direction to field crews and employees
- Communicate regularly with customers, municipalities, contractors, and stakeholders
- Maintain consistent communication, reporting, and updates with Sherwood Park head office
- Identify operational issues and take action to keep projects and maintenance work on track
- Review project progress, costs,
and performance and report on key issues
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure company policies and procedures are followed
- Support estimating, quoting, scheduling, and project planning as required
Skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities
- Solid understanding of traffic signals, street lighting, and roadway electrical infrastructure
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with customers, municipalities, employees, and contractors
- Strong understanding of project schedules, budgets, and resource planning
- Comfortable working independently while maintaining close communication with head office
- Strong computer and documentation skills
Qualifications
- Experience in traffic signal maintenance and/or construction
- Previous experience in a Project Manager, Branch Manager, Foreman, or supervisory role
- IMSA Traffic Signal Technician certification is an asset
- Journeyman Electrician certification is an asset
- Experience working with municipal traffic signal or roadway infrastructure is preferred
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to travel as required
