The City of Kingston seeks a Building Permit Technologist to enhance its building services team.

Your role encompasses reviewing permit applications and ensuring compliance with the Ontario Building Code, while providing top-notch customer service. As a pivotal member of the team, you'll focus on reviewing applications for residential and commercial projects. You'll advise applicants on their submissions and support building inspectors through in office evaluations. This role is integral in fostering community growth through safe development practices. Key Responsibilities:

- Assess permit applications for completeness and compliance
- Issue permits in accordance with municipal regulations
- Provide guidance to applicants and inspectors




- Conduct inspections alongside professional inspectors
- Offer customer support and permit statistics Requirements:
- Diploma in Architectural, Civil, or Mechanical Technology
- 6 months of public interaction experience
- Successful completion of examinations under Bill 124
- Excellent public relations and communication skills
