About The Role

We are looking for a

Senior Business Intelligence Specialist to support a major public-sector healthcare initiative in

Toronto, Ontario

. This role combines enterprise data architecture with hands-on Power BI development

, with approximately 40% of the role focused on architecture and 60% on Power BI development.

Key Responsibilities

- Design the data architecture for enterprise Power BI solutions.

- Develop solution architecture documents, data-flow diagrams, and conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

- Design Databricks Lakehouse and enterprise Power BI Semantic Models.

- Develop Power BI dashboards, reports, KPIs, and advanced DAX measures.

- Connect and integrate Databricks data sources with Power BI.

- Design security models, including Row-Level Security (RLS).

- Develop data governance and data lineage frameworks.

- Optimize Power BI performance and capacity.

- Support CI/CD pipeline and deployment architecture.

- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and resolve complex data issues.

- Provide technical documentation, mentoring, and knowledge transfer.

Must-Haves

- 7+ years of Business Intelligence / Data Analytics experience.

- 5+ years of hands-on Power BI development.





- 7+ years of Data Architecture experience.

- Expert-level DAX, Power Query, and data modeling skills.

- Advanced SQL and Data Warehouse experience.

- Strong experience with Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Synapse, and SQL Server.

- Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling, star schemas, and enterprise data warehouse design.

- Experience designing enterprise Power BI semantic models and reporting architectures.

- Experience with data governance, security, RLS, and performance optimization.

- Robust stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.

- 3+ years of public-sector or healthcare experience.

Nice-to-Haves

- Experience leading enterprise-scale BI initiatives.

- Experience mentoring BI developers and technical teams.

- Experience with Power BI CI/CD and deployment pipelines.

- Experience working in complex healthcare or government data environments.

- Strong experience translating business requirements into scalable data architecture solutions.

- Experience with technical documentation, architecture reviews, and knowledge transfer.
