Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Conversion Engineer with 6+ years of experience in healthcare integration and interface development. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Mirth channel development, interface conversion, Lua, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, HL7, and X12.

The primary focus of this role will be customer override conversion and channel configuration, including converting existing interfaces, configuring Mirth channels, and supporting successful migration and deployment activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, configure, test, and maintain Mirth Connect channels.
- Perform interface conversions and migrations from existing/legacy configurations to the target environment.
- Manage customer-specific override conversions and channel configurations.
- Develop and modify transformation and routing logic using Lua and JavaScript.
- Work with HL7 and X12 messages, including mapping, transformation, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Utilize PostgreSQL for data validation, queries, troubleshooting, and integration support.
- Analyze existing interfaces and determine appropriate conversion approaches.
- Configure customer-specific interface requirements while maintaining established integration standards.
- Troubleshoot message-processing, transformation, routing, and connectivity issues.
- Perform unit, integration, regression, and conversion testing.
- Support deployment, cutover, and post-conversion validation activities.




- Collaborate with integration engineers, architects, QA teams, and other technical stakeholders.
- Document interface configurations, mappings, conversion logic, and technical changes.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant experience in interface development, integration engineering, or healthcare integration.
- Strong hands-on experience with Mirth Connect / NextGen Connect.
- Robust experience in Mirth channel development and configuration.
- Proven experience with interface conversion and migration projects.
- Hands-on programming/scripting experience with Lua and JavaScript.
- Strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL.
- Strong experience with HL7 healthcare messaging standards.
- Experience working with X12 / EDI transactions.
- Experience with message mapping, transformation, routing, and validation.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to work effectively in complex enterprise integration environments.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale healthcare interface conversion or modernization projects.
- Experience handling customer-specific configurations and overrides.
- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability workflows and integration architecture.
- Experience supporting production deployments, cutovers, and go-live activities.
